This is the Ras N' Map "What's New" file, you will only see it when
your Ras N' Map executables are upgraded or changed. Once you have
viewed this file once, it will not appear again until the executables change
again.
THIS IS A BETA UNFINISHED PRE-RELEASE PROGRAM. Therfore, not everything can be expected to work, but it should not crash your system either. If you experience anything abnormal other than an error message from Ras N' Map, please let me know so I can fix it for the next BETA. The final release of Ras N' Map 1.0 is planned for 29SEP97.
Ras N' Map was designed mostly for Windows NT4. Although it will work under Windows '95 and NT 3.x, It will only work as a machine database program. Most of the networking/RAS features will only work under NT4 and some under NT 3.x, but very few will work with Windows '95 (yet). This program is and always will be developed in favor of NT, but special considerations and possibly a new program will be implemented for '95, especially if I get enough support to do so from you '95 users. If I don't hear from many '95 users, I probably will not pay much attention to it.

After a long vacation from Ras N' Map, I'm back at it again.
1. Redesigned the toolbar to reflect the most commonly used features.
2. Added single drive mapping and better drive deleting facility by calling the Windows 95/NT add connection and disconnect
API's.
3. New Menu Item: OS Version. Lets you select which OS you are using. Code to do this automatically
is in the works.

Did major redesign of interface to comply with 640x480 resolutions. Change should not affect higher resolutions, but should help 640x480 users who were getting a full screen dose of Ras N' Map.

The wait mouse cursor icon is some dynamite with a burning fuse. I am aware of a problem where the
cursor gets stuck in this position. If it happens to you, you can still work as normal, and the cursor
will change after you change groups.
Error messages are displayed when you select MAP from the menu and map a specific drive.

You can now click on the Ras Phone Book Button and activate the nearest RAS entry to the Ras N' Map entry being displayed.
Depending on the options you have preset in the menu item "Ras", clicking the RAS Dial button will do one of three things:
1. Dial the number you have keyed in to Ras N Map for the current group.
2. Open the RAS phone book and go to the nearest entry in the phonebook that meets the current Ras N' Map group. It may take Ras N' Map several seconds to tell the RAS Phonebook which entry to go to depending on how big your phonebook is. Also, if you try closing the RAS phonebook before Ras N' Map figures out which entry to go to, Ras N' Map may open another copy of the phone book and try all over again. So, if you have seleted a Ras N' Map group called "Greenville Dental Center" and have an entry in the RAS phonebook called "Greenville Dental Center," the RAS phonebook will go to that entry. However, if there is not an entry called "Greenville Dental Center," the phone book will go to the most similar entry.
3. If you selected the Ras menu option "Ask Me," a window will come up asking you which of the above 2 options you wish to use.
